Yesterday and Today….
SOUTHERN BELLE ran a very promising race yesterday on her debut at Sandown. She has been showing a decent level of ability here at home but it is very pleasant when they repeat their actions on the racecourse. We are sure she has a very bright future ahead of her. QUEEN ZAIN continues her steady improvement finishing in a respectable third place at Wolverhampton yesterday. We think she will benefit from a step up in trip when she makes her handicap debut next time out. REPECHAGE sadly missed the break and could never catch up on her run yesterday at Wolverhampton. All horses are having a well deserved run around in the wet and muddy paddocks today.
Today’s runners are all over the country. We start our afternoon in Thirsk where Graham Lee and COMEDY NIGHT race in the 2.30pm Maiden Stakes. He is a solid contender who has a great draw so if he makes the most of this advantage he should run a good race. GREEN DOOR has only been in the yard for 3 weeks, he has settled in well and he looks a picture. It’s his first start for us so all an experiment today. He runs in the 4.35pm SIS Handicap Stakes at Ascot with Andrea Atzeni on board. FREEZONE and INDIAN TINKER are going head to head at 5.05pm with Marc Monaghan and Martin Harley taking the rides. Both these horses should prefer the softer ground that Ascot will be offering today. Our final two runners of the day are two year old fillies BEST NEW SHOW and ROSE ZAFONIC both owned by Mr Jaber Abdullah. BEST NEW SHOW makes her racecourse debut, she has been showing decent ability here at home and we believe the softer ground will be suitable for her. Lets see how she fairs against her stable mate ROSE ZAFONIC who will be making her second career start, she ran well last time even though she finished last, she will be sharper for the experience but the ground will remain an unknown. They race in the 5.50pm Maiden Auction Fillies Stakes at Chepstow. Steve Drowne and Liam Keniry are on board.
