Two Wins In Two Days…

We were thrilled to welcome two wins over the course of two consecutive days at the end of last week …

SWOOPER and SUGAR DUMPLING both three-year-olds and both bred right here on the stud.

Homebred winners are quite special to us.  We have chosen their sire, we have raised them from foals through to yearlings, put them in to their training careers and of course named them!! . . .

SWOOPER was named by a great friend in Mrs Maria Ferguson whom is his co-owner/breeders.  We all thought it sounded quite dangerous and fun!!

SUGAR DUMPLING was named by our then head man, Ross Studholme.  Naming her was his leaving marker with us!  We all thought he was amusing naming her as he did, however to him she was always a ‘generously’ sized filly as a foal and yearling!!! All the grub he placed in front of her, she gobbled!!!  Thankfully she can run quite fast despite this!

We are now in the breeding season of course and we are looking forward to several foals this season.  We have already been considering what to re-cover them with this year, which is always a nice dilemma to have…
