Robert Cowell Racing News

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday sees us head to Goodwood with Blue De Vega he takes on the competition at 3.15 pm in the 81-95 Handicap over the minimum trip.  This chap has been a little frustrating in the past but he is definitely extremely capable so lets hope Luke can keep him involved and get that much needed win for him.  He rides in the colours of Mrs Morley.

A little closer to home at the Guineas meeting we send Encor D’Or into the Group 3 Palace House Stakes at 2.20 pm.  He is a super genuine horse and he is paired today with Jim Crowley who won on him at Leicester in October last year.  We have everything crossed they show up well again together for owning partnership Mrs Morley, Mr Glen Johnson and Newsells Park Stud.

Saturday morning Rocket Action leaves the yard to make the long journey up to Hamilton Park for racing on Sunday.  This exciting youngster heads to post at 2.05 pm in the 5 furlong Conditions Stakes.  He has been placed in all of his three starts so far including a win at Newcastle in good company, its a small field and we are hopeful he should do as well again.  PJ McDonald gets the leg up for Mr Ng.

Then back to day 2 of the Guineas meeting where Haddaf and Victory Angel take each other on in the 6 furlong 2.55 pm Longholes Handicap.  Victory Angel makes his debut for the yard and is certainly ready since joining us he has made lots of progress and is fighting fit and ready for action. Harry Bentley is onboard for Mr Ziad A Galadari.  Haddaf ran a good race last time out just two weeks ago at Newmarket over 5 furlongs, maybe he will prefer the extra?  Raul Da Silva is in the saddle in the colours of Tom Morley.
