COPPER CAVALIER runs today at Lingfield Park in the 3.30pm over 6 furlongs. He last ran at Chelmsford City where he did not seem to be able to act on the slightly slower surface. He does seem to prefer a quicker sort of ground at the likes of Wolverhampton and Lingfield Park. He won over this distance at the very end of December. We would be very hopeful and delighted to see him back in the winners enclose once again today . . .
Saturday we will have ROYAL ACQUISITION also travelling to Lingfield Park for the last race on the card at 5.05pm . . . He is in the second division of the 5f Handicap. He has been running some solid races over the winter and is knocking on the door of another victory. He will have his last winning Jockey back on board, Adam Beschizza having returned from a stint in America. Fingers crossed all can fall right again for him this weekend . . .
On news further afield, SPEED HAWK this morning had an over land scope. This was to determine if there was anything at all in his airways restricting him from seeing out the 6 furlong trip, having been running some very decent races on the Dirt at Meydan . . . We are delighted these investigation have found nothing untoward that we need to act on. This now confirms he is to stay on in Dubai and race on Super Saturday, 7th March . . .
