Royal Acquisition, Foals And Overseas Action . . .
Today we have ROYAL ACQUISITION back in action following recently completing and passing his stalls test care of Gary Witheford and his team – www.garywitheford.co.uk.
He will travel back to Lingfield Park for the 4.40pm, 71-85 Handicap over 5 furlongs. He has Liam Keniry in charge today in the colours of Mr J Sargeant . . .
Fingers crossed this Royal Applause gelding can complete a happy week for Mr Sargeant, following his Kyllachy mare; KASSUTA foaling to KHELEYF on Tuesday night. He was thrilled to learn she had a colt. He currently has a two-year-old filly in training, the first foal out of this mare, by BAHAMIAN BOUNTY. Recently named, JUST OVER.
So far, four out of the five mares we have on the stud have foaled, making it three filly’s and one colt. One more left to foal . . . We hope to have photo’s of the mares and foals up in due course. They are currently all boarding this season up at Manor Farm Stud in Leicestershire who do a fantastic job and have breed some super stars, particularly in the sprint divisions. JWALA being prime example! . . . All five mares will be put back in foal, along with two maiden Mares. We look forward to welcoming them all back on the stud in due course . . .
This weekend sees Meydan stage the world renowned Dubai World Cup on Saturday . . . As previously reported in our news, SPEED HAWK will line up for the Dubai Golden Shaheen at 7.05pm, local time. We are excited to see him in action and have Andrea Atzeni booked on board . . . This race is on the Dirt track, of which SPEED HAWK has had plenty of practise at throughout the Carnival. Being American bred he has really taken to this surface. It is all about getting a good start and position on this track and fingers crossed, like his previous races he can do that and lay down a challenge in the final furlong . . . It is his first time at Group 1 level and of course it will be tough, but as they say, if you are not in it, you can not win it!!! Fingers crossed he gets plenty of luck in running and can run a big race on Saturday!! . . .
