Racing Is Back In Action . . .

We are now nine days in to Racing Resuming in the UK since the outbreak of COVID-19.

It has taken a huge amount of work and commitment to get racing back up and running in a safe manner for all racecourse and all racing personnel, plus all the other professions that it takes to stage a race meeting, from the Medical staff, Vets, Farriers, Stalls Handlers and many more.

There has also been quite a few changes for us in a racing yard.  We are currently declaring on a 72 hour basis, rather then our usual 48 hours prior to the meeting.  This gives everyone that extra day to ensure all is in place.  We also not only declare our horse to run, but once declared we have to declare which members of staff will travel to the races.  All staff complete a 7 day Health Screening in order to attend the races.  We have also moved on with technology, with all horse passport checked prior to declaring via a Vaccination passport App, so this limits additional human contact and handling of passports at the races.

Our staff have done a wonderful job during this difficult and uncertain past few months.  With racing back on, they not only do all they should regarding health & safety here in the yard but out on the road to and from the races and at the meetings.  PPE is in full swing!

We have hit the ground running with our horses all showing a good level of form racing most days since resumption. . .  Yesterday we had a very nice double with ISHVARA (Haydock Park) and GRISONS (Lingfield Park).  Plus today, ALJADY has been victorious at Haydock Park.

We have runners Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.  We will have a quite day Saturday, but likely to have runners again Sunday and Monday . . . Watch this space . . .
