Non-Runner In The Nunthorpe Stakes . . .
We are very disappointed to announce that Kingsgate Native has had to be made a non-runner in today’s Group 1 race, The Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
This was always to be Kingsagtes Native’s targeted first race back. However bloods were taken from him and they came back to us not quite the satisfactory 100%. He will enjoy a sunny morning in the paddock instead and prepare for his next target.
He is entered in the Group 1, 6f, Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock Park on Saturday, 8th Septmeber. He is also entered in the Group 2, 6f, Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Saturday, 20th October. There are races in between that he can run in at Newbury and Ascot . . . Still plenty to look forward to this season with him.
Mean while Spirit Quartz and Monsieur Joe left the yard this morning for York. They are both in great form with themselves. We are all looking forward to 3.40pm this afternoon, when both line up in the Group 1, Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes!! Spirit Quartz will carry Qatar Racing Limited colours, Claret with Gold Braiding. He is the mount of Frankie Dettori. Monsieur Joe will have Richard Mullen on board in the Green and Black Stars of Mrs Helen Checkely . . .
