Robert Cowell Racing News

News From Six Mile Bottom . . .

It is a beautifully sunny day here in Newmarket today, which is fantastic news in particular for the first day of racing here in Newmarket on the Rowley Mile racetrack, which is day one of the Craven meeting . . . Sadly we do not have a runner at this particular meeting but we should have runners at the next big meeting – the Guineas and further meetings there after . . .

Yesterday morning the Rowley Mile track held the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-ups . . . All two-year-olds catalogued to sell at the sale have to breeze 3 furlongs on the race track to potential purchasers to view . . . All lots then sell after racing today and tomorrow at Tattersalls.  All proceedings can be view on the Tattersalls website live . . .

Here at home we have had a busy morning galloping a handful of two-year-old for the first time on the gallops in Newmarket.  This is was their first trip off the stud since arriving with us.  We should have our first two-year-old runners within the next few weeks which is always very exciting . . . Otherwise on the stud we are continuing to do plenty of work – We are altering a few turnout paddocks, fencing, planting new trees around the yard and also a bit of tarmacking of driveways . . . Being such a warm sunny morning we turned out lots of the fillies in the paddocks today which will do them the world of good . . .
