Breeders Cup Action
All the team here at Bottisham Heath Stud are super excited to see pocket rocket Pocket Dynamo head to post this afternoon in the opening race of the day the 7.21 pm (UK Time) 5.5 furlong Juvenile Turf Sprint race. He will be the yards first ever runner at the huge Breeders Cup held this year at Churchill Downs in Kentucky.
Pocket Dynamo was bought as a yearling at the Keeneland sales by Tom Morley, the horse enjoyed victory on his second start at Chelmsford, before heading to Longchamp for the Prix Du Cherche Midi where he claimed his second win, from there he went to Royal Ascot for the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes where he was just beaten by a nose by Shang Shang Shang who lines up again with him today. He caught the eye of Phoenix Thoroughbreds who purchased him from Tom and he went on to run in their colors back in France this time the Prix Robert Papin at Maisons Lafitte and then as a pre States warm up in the Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket. As usual he put in gutsy performances in both races but neither unfolded in his favor.
He flew to the US last Friday so has had a week acclimatizing with his groom Ali and getting used to the conditions out there. The weather is not great and his draw is wide but he is a strong, tough individual and we are sure he will give it everything he has got. Good luck to jockey Joel Rosario and everyone at Phoenix Thoroughbreds.
