A Trio Of Saturday Runners . . .
We have three runners today . . . DUKE OF FIRENZE, GRAPHIC GUEST and COPPER CAVALIER . . .
DUKE OF FIRNEZE travelled up to Scotland yesterday morning for today’s Ayr Gold cup over 6f at 3.50pm . . . He raced in this contest last year for Sir Michael Soute . . . He came to us for the start of this season. He made his belated début this summer and has since run well in a conditions race. This of course represents a huge challenge with a big field of 27 runners, but he is in good form with himself, the ground will suit and as long as he gets a good break and bit of luck in runners as is always needed in these large fields we hope he will run a big race. He will have Graham Gibbons in the saddle for Owner and Breeder, Cheveley Park Stud. He will wear the Red and White sash jacket with a White cap today . . .
GRAPHIC GUEST runs in the 3.30pm, Group 3 at Newbury today . . . We declared in the hope of some Soft ground. The weather has since declaration duly obliged and this morning the going was updated to Soft which we are delighted with. She has had a sporadic campaign this season due to needing Soft going; When she gets it she has run well. Fingers crossed today she breaks smartly and relishes the going this afternoon. She has Richard Hughes in the saddle for Mr J Webb . . .
COPPER CAVALIER is back in action this evening in the 8.50pm at Wolverhampton. He last raced and won over course and distance in January and has since had to have some time off the track. He has been gelded this year and has Adam Beschizza back on board today in the Purple and Yellow Stars of Mr J Partridge and Mrs D Rix . . .
