Robert Cowell Racing News

A busy Good Friday…

Lingfield….     Two runners head to Lingfield for The All Weather Championship finals afternoon first off is Raucous heading down to post at 1.30 pm for the 7 furlong Apprentice Handicap, he ran a great race last time out at Kempton over 6 furlongs just getting pipped at the post and has always been extremely consistent, we should hope for a good performance again today if he likes the extra distance. Cieren Fallon gets the leg up for Tom Morley. Then to the 3.05 pm Conditions Stakes which sees Encor D’Or take on the rest of the field over 6 furlongs, he qualified for this race at Newcastle in January winning comfortably. Good luck to Luke Morris who rides in the colours of Mrs Morley also for Glen Johnson and Newsells Park Stud.

Newcastle…. Rocket Action is the first of our runners here, he takes on the competition in the 2.10 pm Novice Stakes, he is an exciting horse making his third run after a brilliant win over same course and distance back in November. He is ably partnered with Gerald Mosse today for Mr Robert Ng. Burford Brown makes his yard debut for us in the last race, the 4.55 pm 71-85 5 furlong Handicap, he likes the track having had two wins for his previous yard but over 7 furlongs, lets see if this big tough horse can repeat this and continue his winning ways. Gerald Mosse rides too for The Ever Hopefuls.

Bath….       Going down to post together for the Listed 4.05 pm EBF fillies Handicap we have three contenders. Blame Roberta who has not seen any racing action since October where she was just nudged out of a place in a Listed race at Chantilly, she is a sweet, honest filly and will prefer the faster ground here today. Hayley Turner rides for Mr Khalifa Dasmal. Ocelot has shown good consistency, she is a big strong filly who will take her time and show her speed towards the end of the race, lets hope Dougie Costello gets her into a good position and they finish strongly. He rides for owner/breeder Manor Farm Stud. Last but not least One Last Night who has recently joined us from France where she has shown great form winning twice from seven starts, lets hope shedoes well and it is the start of a successful season here. Sean Levey takes the reins for T Stewart and N De Chambure Riviera & Broadhurst.
