Group 1 Action In The Qatar Prix De L’Abbaye De Longchamp . . .
We are delighted to be sending four runners to France this weekend . . .
Spirit Quartz and Monsieur Joe are in the Group 1, the Qatar Prix De L’Abbaye De Longchamp at 1.55pm (12.55pm UK) over 5f on Sunday. Both horses are in fine form; Monsieur Joe having won two weeks ago in the prep race at Longchamp, the Prix Du Petit Couvert, the Group 3 over 5f will have the same partnership this weekend with Olivier Peslier. Spirit Quartz missed the Petit Couvert but has been running very consistently this season, being 2nd in both the Group 2 at Goodwood, The King George and the Group 1 at York, The Nunthorpe this summer. He also retains the same partnership with Jockey, Frankie Dettori. There are 19 runners and we have been drawn in stall 5 and 9 . . .
We will then make our way across to Chantilly with two runners, Pandar and Lui Rei in the Listed, Prix De Bonneval over 5.5f on Monday at 2.05pm (1.05pm UK). Pandar is relatively new to us, but he has fantastic form in Italy. Lui Rei is having a very fruitful season having already won three times in the UK, as well as a very game run in The Stewards Cup at Glorious Goodwood . . .
Before all that and back home in the UK we have Kingsagate Native at Ascot in the 4.10pm on Saturday, The Rous Stakes, a Listed event over 5f for Cheveley Park Stud. Shane Kelly retains the ride, having narrowly missed out on victory in the Group 3 at Newbury two weeks ago.
We will also have Nelina making her debut at Wolverhampton in the 6.20pm on Saturday, The Median Auction Maiden Stakes over 6f. She has 5lb claimer, Darren Egan on board in the Newsells Park Stud colours . . .
