Busy Easter Weekend
A busy weekend of racing starts this afternoon at Newcastle where our two runners have enjoyed overnight accommodation ahead of racing today. First off in the 2.10 pm Novice Stakes over the minimum distance is Cowboy Soldier who makes his second career start after a promising debut at Nottingham as a 2 year old. Good luck to Mrs Fitri Hay. Next up is 2 year old Vikivaki who makes her career debut in the 4.25 pm Fillies Conditions Stakes also over the shortest trip, she is a super young horse bought as a yearling at Keeneland for $70,000 by Mr Tom Morley. Both horses are partnered today by Luke Morris.
Blue De Vega leaves the yard shortly to make the long journey up to Musselburgh ready for racing tomorrow. He goes to post at 2.25 pm for the 5 furlong Conditions Stakes. We have added cheekpieces for the first time, lets hope they assist with his concentration and this super speedy horse can really show us on the track what he shows us at home. PJ Mcdonald is in the saddle today in the colours of Qatar Racing for Sheikh Fahad and family.
Last of our weekend runners is Grandfather Tom who makes another all weather start this time at Chelmsford City in the 7.15 pm 66-85 Handicap Stakes over 5 furlongs. This horse has enjoyed an amazing winter and we would love to see him and stable jockey Eoin Walsh grab another victory to add to the collection. Good luck to owner and breeder Mr Jeff Sargeant.
