Pontefract today…
Two runners head to Pontefract for racing this afternoon. First to go at 2.20 pm in the 5 furlong Median Auction Maiden Stakes is 2 year old Sovereign State who is improving for each run, this will be his third time out and we are hopeful of a good shout from him today. He is a lovely horse and seems to know his job at home. Good luck to Harry Bentley and all at Qatar Racing.
Southern Belle takes on the competition at 4 pm in the 6 furlong 81-100 Fillies Handicap Stakes. She has enjoyed a good season so far and was only narrowly beaten at Hamilton Park last time out on ground that seemed to suit her and which will be similar today. She is a hard working filly and it would be great to see her grab another win today. Philip Makin gets the leg up in the blue and white silks of Mr Ahmed Jaber.
