All-Weather Championship Shambles……

Our All-Weather Championship hopeful VISIONARY has been left this morning with his chance of competing in the valuable Finals Day at Lingfield Park on 14th April in the balance . . .

We had trained and planned him to travel over to Ireland next week to attempt to win the final of the four Fast-Track qualifying races at Dundalk on 3rd March.  This has been officially advertised as a 6 furlong Conditions event.  However on looking further in to making the entry we have discovered Horse Racing Ireland in fact have it programmed as a 7 furlong race.

VISIONARY does qualify for the Finals day, having raced three times on the All-Weather over the winter.  However he did not win a Fast Track Qualifier,  therefore does not have any guarantee of making it in to the Finals race and no opportunity to gain free entry, which the Fast track races provide.

This is a huge disappointment not only to us, but VISIONARY’s owner, Mr Khalifa Dasmal.

A huge amount of time, discussion and consideration goes in to the training of our horses.  This kind of mistake is extremely detrimental.

We are astounded that no one has picked this mistake up until we questioned it with the organisers of the AWC.

Fortunately for them we appear to be the only ones with an interest in this race.  Imagine had it been a similar mistake with the longer distance races of which more trainers would have had an interest in??

We can also point out; the AWC series has six categories.

Each one contains four fast track qualifier races, ranging in only two distances per category.

The Three-year-old category that we are interested in will now contain 3.  Surely this is a little odd!

It is a great series for winter racing, and we pray we get the chance to compete on Good Friday for a fantastic prize total of 150k.  However we are left with no option but to keep fingers crossed VISIONARY makes the cut ….
