11 Year old superstar KINGSGATE NATIVE wins at Nottingham….
Trending at number 4 on Twitter yesterday was Cheveley Park Studs amazing 11 year old gelding KINGSGATE NATIVE. A firm stable favourite who certainly does not act his years and this showed on the racetrack yesterday when he stormed to victory in the 5 furlong conditions stakes at Nottingham. His last couple of starts have not gone to plan and Robert was very keen to let him run whereby there would be no excuses and yesterday was the day. Jim Crowley asked and he gave. Patience has been vindicated and talk of retirement has now been put on the back burner and his pipe and slippers have been put back in the cupboard for a bit longer. He has enjoyed a well earned day off in one of our lovely paddocks this morning – no doubt causing some mischief! Our next aim for him will be the Beverley Bullet at the end of August and failing that the Scarborough Stakes at Doncaster next month. Who knows what the next chapter in his wonderful story will bring ? He has certainly proved that there is plenty of life left in the old dog. Huge hearty congratulations go to everyone at Cheveley Park Stud and to all our wonderful staff who all have a very soft spot for this wonderful horse.
