A huge win on day three of Royal Ascot for PRINCE OF LIR….
What a day we had at Royal Ascot yesterday when 2 year old PRINCE OF LIR cruised to victory in the opening race of the afternoon the Group 2 NORFOLK STAKES. This lovely little pocket rocket is the son of Kodiac and was a £170,000 purchase at the Goffs Doncaster Breeze-Up sale, he showed great maturity and attitude and despite being quite small showed he is definitely a force to be reckoned with. He was given a great ride by Luke Morris who also enjoyed victory at the Royal meeting for the first time but sadly had to rush off almost straight after to take his next ride at Chelmsford. Huge congratulations to the Cool Silk Partnership of Peter Swann and Barbara Wilkinson and all their connections and to his breeders Philip and Orla Hore. This makes it three prestigious wins for Team Cowell at Royal Ascot after winning the Kings Stand back in 2011 with PROHIBIT and last year with GOLDREAM who we sadly had to pull out of this years event due to the soft ground. So another big well done to all our fantastic and hard working staff. Watch this space for more news and future entries on this exciting youngster.
