Two-Year-Old Win At Sandown Park . . .
We were thrilled to see SOUTHERN BELLE win so well yesterday in the first at Sandown Park . . . Having raced there on Debut in July and rattled home in the final stages to finish an eye catching second. She then when went to Lingfield Park on their all-weather racetrack and slightly disappointed, finishing third. However reflection and on returning to the yard she was not quite right and our feeling would be was she was a little off colour that day, coupled with perhaps not enjoying the sharp down-hill, round track there being a big, scopey filly. We are delighted she has relished the return to Sandown and it’s stiff, straight 5 furlongs, winning by two and half lengths in style under the guidance of Ted Durcan for Mr Ahmed Jaber and bred by Rabbah Bloodstock. She looks to be one to look forward to again next year as a three-year-old . . .
