The weekend ahead….
COMEDY NIGHT had to be withdrawn due to appearing a little unsettled en route to Brighton this morning. He is home now and there does not seem to be any repercussions. It is always better to be safe than sorry as a case of colic in the horsebox could end in disaster.
We have an exciting weekend ahead of us with some useful types heading up North:
Firstly KINGSGATE NATIVE and SPEED HAWK travel to Haydock Park where they will face each other in The Achilles Stakes at 3.10pm. KINGSGATE NATIVE had no run encountering traffic problems during the Temple Stakes last weekend. He seems in good form so we are rolling the dice again. SPEED HAWK has just returned from Dubai and has been issued a 108 handicap mark. We feel this is fair in relation to his dirt performance but to high for what he has achieved on grass.
Heading to York are DUKE OF FIRENZE and NORMAL EQUILIBRIUM where they will also run against each other in The Spring Sprint at 2.55pm. NORMAL EQUILIBRIUM has had a good year so far but was bogged down on soft ground last time out. He will certainly appreciate the faster ground today. DUKE OF FIRENZE has been working very well at home but was extremely disappointing on his seasonal debut. He seems to run poorly on his first start each year for some reason, we do not know why!? His gallops have been top draw and we expect him to fair better this time.
