Ernest Wins On Third Start . . .
We were delighted to witness ERNEST put in a marked improvement on his third career race to win yesterday at Southwell . . . Hayley Turner gave him a perfect ride over the minimum distance to get him to knuckle down to the task in hand . . . This three-year-old son of Showcasing gave an unexpected very green performance at Kempton Park on his début less than four weeks ago. He ran again a week ago at Lingfield Park when the it looked as if the penny was starting to drop with him. To see him step on again was fantastic. We will now await to he learn of his first handicap mark next Tuesday before making further plans for him – For now he is enjoying a morning bucking and kicking out in the paddocks with a companion in the late winter sun! . . .
Today we have CARDINAL in action at Lingfield Park at 2.50pm . . . He has had a decent mini holiday since his last race in 2014. In the past he has liked this track and Hayley Turner tends to get on well with him. He has a fairly moderate stall draw but he looks a picture at home and we would hope to see a decent 2015 début performance from him this afternoon . . .
