Intrinsic Wins The 32Red Stewards Cup At Glorious Goodwood . . .

We are all so delighted that INTRINSIC carried on his fantastic race form since joining us and romped to victory in the Heritage Handicap sprint at Glorious Goodwood on Saturday in the newly named 32Red Stewards Cup over 6f . . .

We were confident on a couple of fronts going in to the race.  He were delighted with our stall draw, which happened ‘live’ on Thursday at the racetrack following declarations.  We were drawn out about a third of the way through the runners and we chose stall number 22 . . . We were confident in the Jockey booking, of Richard Hughes, his regular Jockey since joining us . . . and we were thrilled with INTRINSIC’s attitude at home, his fitness and general well being . . . Our only concerns were that it had not rained as predicted the night before or on the morning of the race and also that he had never raced in such a big or competitive field before . . .

He took the whole race all in his stride, hitting the front of the field in the final furlong and running on strongly to win well by a length. . .

We could not be more delighted for his owner, Malih Al Basti, who has a number of horses with us and is a very good supporter of British racing, sponsoring several high profile Jockeys, such as Richard Hughes, Ryan Moore and Pat Dobbs.  He also sponsors heavily with Newbury racecourse and Racing UK . . .

INTRINSIC will now be aimed in to stakes company from here on in.  He holds entries in the Sprint Cup at Haydock, The Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh and he will hold an entry in the Sprint Stakes on Champions Day at Ascot  . . .
