Intrinsic Wins At Ascot . . .
Our good form continued over the weekend . . . On Saturday we had CARDINAL and INTRINSIC in action . . . CARDINAL was first up in the 2.45pm, 5f Handicap at Nottingham . . . He has been ready to race for some time now, however he is a soft ground horse and several times we have had to declare him and pull him out at the last moment due to changing ground conditions. Saturday saw us get ‘his’ kind of ground, and despite him being drawn worst of all and in quite a big field we went for it and he stormed home in the final furlong to be placed in to second. The race will have done him the world of good and we now just look forward to finding him another opportunity when the weather is playing up again and the going gets soft . . . We then had to wait until 5.00pm to see INTRINSIC make both, his seasonal début and his début for his owner and ourselves. It was worth the wait as he ran a cracker, winning the last race of the card by over a length, on ground we did not think would suit him perfectly. Richard Hughes gave him a fantastic, confident ride and we are delighted for his connections . . . We can now look forward to a 2014 turf campaign with this fine son of Oasis Dream . . .
We have MOONSPRING in action today at Lingfield Park on the all-weather surface ay 2.55pm. She is dropped back down in trip today and she is drawn better than she was there on her last outing . . . Fingers crossed for another solid run from her . . .
