Goodbye to our stable star KINGSGATE NATIVE….
It is a sad day here at Bottisham Heath Stud as we say goodbye to 11 year old stable favourite KINGSGATE NATIVE who is moving on to start the next chapter of his fabulous career. His new role at the British Racing School and the newly built Palace House Stables will allow his many fans to get up close and personal and help train the jockeys of the future. He will be sorely missed here as his antics around the yard never fail to make us laugh and he certainly still has the ability to act like a youngster and be extremely naughty at times. He has had a wonderful career which he began by winning the Nunthorpe Stakes as a 2 year old back in 2007 and the following year the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot after which he was retired to Cheveley Park Stud. When fertility problems were discovered he was sent back into training with Sir Michael Stoute before joining us in 2012 where he managed to get himself into the winners enclosure every season and most notably included a second Temple Stakes victory in 2013 ( see picture below). His sheer competitiveness and character has helped him gain a huge following and this was shown for sure after his last victory at Nottingham in August this year when he was trending at number 4 on Twitter. He has been an absolute super star and we look forward to hearing all about all the mischief he gets up to at his two new homes.
