Two days at Chelmsford
2 year olds Filbert Street and Grandfather Tom are just about to leave the yard to make the relatively short journey to Chelmsford City ahead of their race this evening. Both horses go off together at 5.55 pm in the 6 furlong Novice Stakes. Filbert Street made a great debut last month on the same track and over the same trip, hopefully tonight he can improve on this – Luke Morris is back in the saddle for the BGC Racing team. His stablemate Grandfather Tom makes his debut, he has proved he is ready to get the experience so lets see how he gets on today in this relatively small field. Our apprentice Eoin Walsh who knows him very well is on board for Mr Jeff Sargeant.
Onto tomorrow evening where Bahamian Heights takes to the tracks again, he is currently enjoying a great run with a win and a runner up position in his last two starts, he seems to relish the all weather so with a bit of luck he can keep it up! he is off at 5.45 in the Apprentice Handicap Stakes over 5 furlongs. Jonny Fisher our 7lb claiming apprentice rides him again in the silks of Mrs Morley and for joint owners Mr and Mrs Rix.
