Racing kicks off at Newmarket

The eagerly anticipated first meeting of the year The Craven Meeting on the Rowley Mile Racecourse starts today and we have three horses ready to go to post.  First off and making his debut in the 5 furlong Novice Stakes at 3 pm is 2 year old Kodiac colt Ballistic who was purchased for 180,000 euros and has been showing some of the customary speed from his pedigree here at home.  Luke Morris rides for Mrs Fitri Hay.  Our last two horses head to post together for the 5.55 pm 81-95 Handicap Stakes also over the minimum distance.  Storm Over won the Catterick Dash on his last start last October so has plenty of promise he should appreciate the softer ground conditions underfoot too.  Luke Morris rides for Mr Abdulla Al Mansoori.  Evergate blew away the cobwebs at Kempton on the all weather 10 days ago so it will be good to see him back out on the turf although the ground may have to dry out a bit for him to get his preferred conditions.  Jim Crowley gets the leg up for The Ever Hopefuls.
