2017 Outlook

As we embark on a New Year and a new season, we look forward to what potential success lies ahead of us.

Our stable has gone from strength to strength over the past seven years. We have been on an upward curve, welcoming and taking charge of some very talented and exciting individuals, and have been extremely lucky with support from very good owners. Each owner and every horse has played their part in enabling us to maintain our progressive training profile.

Since our first Royal Ascot winner in 2011 we have enjoyed lots of unforgettable days racing, gaining victory at the highest level not only in the UK but in France, Ireland and Dubai. It is a privilege to compete on the biggest stages, at some of the best racetracks in the world and most prestigious meetings throughout the season.

For 2017 we retain a few familiar older names; in particular GOLDREAM. He had a wonderful 2015 season, winning two Group 1 races; The Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot and then the Prix De L’Abbaye at Longchamp. Sadly 2016 proved more difficult, encountering bad weather on the majority of his planned races. Being a fast ground horse, this scuppered his chances heavily. Hopefully 2017 will be luckier for him. Returning for 2017 will also be our Wokingham Stakes winner, OUTBACK TRAVELLER. Plus JUSTINEO, who gain Listed victory in France during 2016.

Joining these will be some exciting older horses that could easily become stakes performers. Plus, high class handicappers, of whom some will, with any luck improve in to stakes company too – Fingers Crossed! . . . This tends to be a particularly exciting department for us.

Our three-year-old’s will be interesting to follow. They are a solid bunch to press on with during the year; However it is well known for being a tricky division as they meet older horses for the first time.

We are delighted to have already welcomed a decent batch of two-year-olds. The majority were purchased from the Tattersalls Yearling sales during September 2016. They have all now been broken in and are working away nicely. We will soon start to see which will be possible early types and which of those may take a little longer to see the racetrack.

Plenty of all ages to keep an eye on over the upcoming 2017 season!
